The HBRP provides buyers an opportunity to rescind their contract to purchase certain residential properties up to three business days after an offer is accepted with a financial penalty. The legislation came into effect on January 3, 2023.

B.C Property Tax Assessments went out this week and most homeowners saw a 5-15% increase this year. These figures were based on the real estate market as of July 1, 2022. If you are you concerned that your assessment does not reflect the current market price, you have until January 31, 2023 to file an appeal with BC Assessment.
